Ipoh born Chin Pak Loong has always been a great enthusiast in art and design at the tender age of 6 and has won numerous awards both locally and internationally since 1989. His awards includes the 2nd Runner Up winning design for RDA Harris; Abu Dhabi International Architecture Competition for Residential and Commercial Tower 2005 by invitation H.H Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Kindergarten Model for Sensual Architecture Lucien Kroll Sketch Design Competition 1999 and was exhibited in Graz School of Architecture in Austria, Special Award and Top Ten Excellence in Art and Design in the Golden Compass Award 1993, 10 Finalist and Consolation in the International Red Crescent Art Competition for the War Campaign, Geneva 1991 and National Computer Graphics Generated Competition in 1989 and 1990. His flair in creativity has led him into the path of becoming an architect and graduated with honours degree.

Whilst a student he has tutored in 1997 at LimKokWing Institute of Creative Technology in the design stream and worked with numerous architecture practices including architect firm, Hijjas Kasturi Associates. He joined Banham Architects in 1998 working on one of Western Australia’s unique residential and lifestyle resort in Mandurah, Port Bouvard and then Leighton Shores Masterplanning with Taylor Woodrow. He left later and joined one of Western Australia leading and award winning architecture firm, Overman and Zuideveld in 2000.

Chin Pak Loong came back to Kuala Lumpur in 2001 and undertakes both the architecture and interior design for arguably Kuala Lumpur’s then most exclusive dance club, Nouvo Dance Club. He then joined international architecture firm B+N Group and Zone Architect in 2002 and subsequently as part of the senior management in 2003. He was responsible for the implementation of architecture, interior design and exhibits for the Royal Selangor Pewter International Visitor Centre and World Headquarters.

Chin Pak Loong has worked extensively in a multi-disciplinary environment and has unique skills in the disciplines of Architecture, Interior Design and Visualization. He is a talented and highly motivated designer who thinks in depth and consistently provides outstanding solutions at both micro and macro. In year 2006 he was selected by Asia Design Forum chaired by Dato Dr. Ken Yeang in giving design talk in Metal Architecture.

Chin brings his experience in design from his exposure in local and international projects mainly in Malaysia, China, Australia and Middle East and previously heads the young architecture and interior architecture team in RDA Harris where the Principal, Abdul Haris Othman whom was the Architect of Records for the prestigious KLCC Twin Towers. After successfully completing the refurbishment of Swiss Garden Resort and Spa in Kuantan, Concorde Hotel Canopy Refurbishment, Kenanga International Redevelopment, Casa Del Rio Luxurious Boutique Hotel and Residence in Malacca and the Ministry of Culture and Arts Headquarters in the historic Sultan Abdul Samad Building and currently designing a string of lifestyle and hospitality projects for both local and international hotels which includes Ibis Styles Hotel, Pullman Resort Port Dickson, Holiday Inn Hotel, Armada Hotel, Oakwood Hotel and Eastin Hotel. His firm was also engaged to project and design manage the world’s first multi billion project Twentieth Century Fox Studio Theme Park in Genting Highlands and the first YOTEL Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Chin was formerly the managing director and founder of MAA Space Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of BCI Asia Top Ten Architecture firm Arkitek MAA Sdn Bhd. In 2013 he decided to venture under his own hence CHINPAKLOONG Architect and now a body corporate under the name CHINPAKLOONG Design Group Sdn Bhd.

Chin Pak Loong is both a Professional Architect and Interior Designer registered with Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM), Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) and Pertubuhan Perekabentuk Dalaman Malaysia (MIID). He is also a Professional Member of Malaysian Green Building Confederation (MGBC) and Association of Consulting Architects Malaysia (ACAM). He is currently elected as the Council Member of MIID (2018-2020) and also the Chairman of REKA International Design Awards (RIDA).
